t’s the fifth annual Taste of Seattle Made, sponsored by Central Co-op! Join us Sunday, October 6th at AXIS Pioneer Square for delicious samples from 40 of our Seattle Made producers and a few fun “mash-up” collaborations—think spicy sausage pasta, ice cream sandwiches, and boozy appetizers! Taste of Seattle Made tickets include five sample pours and mini bites from our collaborators. As always, Taste is a celebration of food and beverages all produced right here in Seattle! Come discover koji: the mold with superpowers—it can amplify flavor, tenderize meat, and ferment foods—it really is the secret sauce to great flavor. Timber City Ginger Beer and Kirsten and Christopher Shockey, authors of the best-selling Fermented Vegetables and Fiery Ferments and just out Miso, Tempeh, Natto and other Tasty Ferments team up for an evening of koji magic. You learn about cultivating your own koji, and how it is important in fermentation and how to use it for countless applications. You will also go on a tour of Timber City Brewery and recently constructed koji room and learn how it is integral to the flavor of the ginger beer.
Our minds are blown and our hearts are full, time to celebrate 5 years of ginger beer brewing in the lovely city of Seattle!! Five years is a huge landmark for us, so we thought it was time to go whole hog, literally! There we be a roasted pig and delcious sides compliments of Olsen Farms and Girls Gone BBQ. And of course oysters from our friends at Hama Hama Oysters. Bring your friends and your kids and anyone else who likes to party, cause we are ready to shake our groove thangs with you all!!
